Shoe on the other foot

Above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:8

Have you ever noticed:

When others are set in their ways, they're obstinate--but you are firm and resolved.

When your neighbor doesn't like your friend, they're prejudiced--but when you don't like their friend, you're a good judge of character.

When they try to treat someone especially well, they're buttering up the person--but when you do so, you're being thoughtful.

When they take time to do things well, they're a perfectionist--but when you do so, you're striving for excellence.

When they spend a lot, they're a spend-thrift--but when you overdo, you're generous.

When they notice flaws in things, they're critical--but when you do, you are perceptive.

When they are mild-mannered, you call them weak--but when you are, you're gracious.

When they dress well, they're extravagant--but when you do, you're tastefully in style.

When they say what they think, they're opinionated--but when you do, you're being honest.

When they take great risks, they're fool-hardy--but when you do, you're brave.

Thought: Faults are thick where love is thin
