Mary, Mother Of Jesus
I wonder what Mary's thoughts we as she held her new babe close to her breast; Was she thinking how God had honored her and how wonderfully she had been blest? Might there have been some fear in her heart, wondering what the future would hold, For this tiny child, lying there in her arms wrapped warmly, to keep out the cold? Could she have known what would happen to him? Would her heart be breaking inside? Could she see herself kneeling beneath that cross, Watching His blood flow, as He hung there and died? Would there be angels hovering around her, holding her close as she cried? Would she understand the meaning, of why her son had to be crucified? Would there be tears of bitterness for those who'd rejected her son? Or would she be able to understand that what was happening, had to be done? That for a lost and dying world her son was the only one, who could become the sacrificial lamb, so salvation for all mankind could be won? God must have known when He chose her, that she would be willing to give the life of this precious son that she loved, so that those who were lost could live! ~Helen Johnson~
