Speared his side-John 19:34 They cried out 'Agitator' and 'Brand of Discontent'. From altar and from steeple, upon this man forlorn, The priests and godly people hurled wrath and bitter scorn. They called Him 'Cheat' and 'Fakir', and drove Him from the door; They shouted, 'Mischeif Maker, be gone and come no more!' From border unto border they hounded Him, lest He 'Upset a stablished order and bring on anarchy.' At length they seized and tried Him, that they might have their will, And so they crucified Him upon a lonely hill. The outcast agitator, driven by scourge and rod, They called 'Fool' and 'Traitor' and now we call Him 'God' " The next time you face some one in a market or traveling down the highway in your car, and you say things later you wish you had not. Think of all that God endured and how little he said. You say "but they". It doesn't matter what "they" did, it matters what "you" said or did. Think of these 14 things the next time "they" happen to "you". Think of these 14 things the next time some thing is happening that overwhelms you or causes you to act in anger or harshness. When you do, do you think that the 'Thing" that "They" that had done to "You" will seem so powerful then? Do you think after thinking of Him and all he went through, that the "They" and the "Situation" that caused you to react in emotion will be as important as it seemed to be before you thought of this? I don't think that anything that happens to you in your daily normal routines, such as some one cut you off on the by-pass, ran over your ankle with a cart in the market, said some thing ugly to you in front of your neighbors, talked behind your back, your husband made you feel bad and is attempting to started an argument, your child is being diobedient, your neighbors dog dug up your newly planted flower bed, the neighbors teen stole your morning paper, some one is flaming insults about your heritage, put a tiny scratch on your car, no matter what it is that you face, remember these things, and remember "be angry but do not sin".
